Enforce the Law

Objective

Increase coordination and collaboration between countries though a regional governance framework better suited to effectively address the Pacific Coast Regions conservation issues.

Goals

  1. Conduct quarterly raids on different points of interest.
  2. Promote and educate Dry Fish consumption alternatives during Holy Week activities.
  3. Provide DIPRONA or Comando Naval del Pacifico with proper transportation to help ensure and enforce the law with inspections.
  4. Develop and maintain close relationships with DIPESCA to ensure they are supporting conservation programs.
  5. Help maintain consistent ocean patrol.
  6. Help maintain inlet checkpoints.

Education and responsible fishing

Objective

Support and educate local fishing associations that are focused on building a better environment of responsible groups of artisan anglers that will promote, protect, and teach billfish conservation in their local communities.  

Goals

  1. Support local fishing associations that unifies artisan anglers to promote their products and distribute them to local markets.
  2. Educate Local Fish Markets to promote artisan angler products.
  3. Identify community leaders to promote legal dry fish products during Holy Week.
  4. Continuous training in our region to effectively market, process, and distribute fresh products.

Academia

Objective

Provide content, learning material, and scholarship funds to local fishing agencies so they can share and educate the future generations on the importance of conservation and billfish. 

Goals

  1. Provide local fishing agencies and schools with access to our Billfish Conservation Academia knowledge base. 
  2. Provide and manage scholarship funds in our region to give our future leaders a better opportunity to succeed and achieve their personal goals. 
  3. Connect local fishing agencies and schools with internship opportunities for our youth.
  4. Host youth conservation days for kids and families monthly throughout our region.
  5. Create opportunities for our youth to explore career paths in marine life and fisheries management.

Promote Tourism

Objective

Promote, conserve, and protect our marine enviroment with a primary focus on long term Billfish conservation while ensuring local traditions and cultural heritage are not impacted.  

Goals

  1. Maintain communication between local governments and private sector to ensure our conservation goals are being met.
  2. Create community awareness, understanding, and support for tourism development. 
  3. Educate our local communities and residents on the economic benefits of Sportsfishing. 
  4. Promote the adoption of responsible consumption practices that support the conservation of Billfish and the impact that has in our region.
